Natural Hazards/Weather Hazards
Weather-related emergencies present the largest single category of
emergency and the greatest potential threat to the
individual citizen.

flooding, blizzards, etc.
- Geological hazards, such as earthquakes and landslides.
- Fires of all types.
Civil Hazards
Civil disorders including any incident that may potentially disrupt
public safety. Includes all manner of terrorist
threats and incidents.
Technological Hazards
Technological hazards are an increasing source of risk
to people and their environment.
- Oil refineries and gas pipelines
- Nuclear Facilities
- Hazardous material manufacture and distribution
- Electrical power failures
- Infrastructure damage

Animal and Vector-Based Hazards
One of the emerging series of threats are vector-based, including
bacteria, virus' and other means that pose a direct or
indirect hazard to humans, their food supply, or the economy.
